Catholic Schools Week begins this weekend and provides the opportunity to celebrate Catholic education in the United States. This year's theme is "Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community," and it really speaks to what we're all about.
One of the great ways we bring faith and community together is through our class service projects. Throughout the year, students, teachers, and families get involved in all sorts of service activities. Every month, our 1st, 7th, and 8th graders, along with their teachers, team up to make sandwiches for those in need. This simple act of service for MercyWatch and Hot Meals not only feeds people but also shows compassion and charity at the heart of our faith. Working together like this strengthens our bonds and lets us share Christ's love with our neighbors. Our students also make placemats for Hot Meals, adding a personal touch to the meals and showing that we care about everyone's well-being and dignity. This project not only brightens someone's day but also shows how our faith inspires us to connect with our community.
Every morning, the day kicks off with a prayer over the intercom. Our 8th graders lead the way, helping the younger students with the prayers over the loudspeaker. Students pray for special intentions and for the needs of our parish and school community. This daily practice really brings everyone together in faith and community.
Catholic Schools Week is a fantastic time to celebrate the vibrant community that makes our school special. We've got a bunch of fun events planned to show our appreciation for students, families, staff, and the broader community. From themed dress-up days and a talent show to an eighth grade vs. faculty volleyball game, there's something for everyone. One of the highlights of the week is our Spaghetti Dinner, where we invite everyone to come together for a delicious meal and great company. It's the perfect chance to connect, share stories, and celebrate the support and dedication that make our school such a great place to learn and grow. We hope to see you there!
Prayers Always,
