About 2 months ago some members of the pastoral council brought to my attention an outreach ministry here in Everett, Hope N Wellness. The had been in the news recently because the building they were located in was not suited to the ministry they were hosting. They had been asked to find a new location. Because of the similarity of their ministry to what we had tried to do on our Cedar st campus a couple years ago the pastoral council asked if we might be open to partnering with Hope N Wellness. I reached out to the head of ministry at Hope N Wellness, Jasmine, and through a series of conversations we realized that we may be a good match for her ministry. She is currently running a center where homeless can drop in between 9-3 on Wednesdays. We are moving closer to having a formal agreement with her and her ministry but I want to check a few things with the City and some other outside ministries. It is likely that you may see some articles in the local news about this in the coming weeks. Hope N Wellness will be using Hensen Hall on Wednesdays when we complete agreements with them. If the ministry runs well from Hensen Hall it is possible that they may expand to more days. I will keep you all updated as we go.
Prayers,
Fr Joseph Altenhofen
