Happy Palm Sunday!! A couple of weeks ago Hope N Wellness, the community outreach group to the homeless that is using Hensen Hall on Wednesdays started ministry on Cedar St. The first day went super well and I’m sure most of you saw the articles that were in the local papers, and we even made the news. The response from Catholics across the diocese has been great and I even got some messages from people saying they were considering becoming parishioners here because of the ministry we do. It’s so great to see things moving in a positive direction and people excited. For a few months Hope N Wellness will be operating only on Wednesdays but then if things continue to be good, we will consider letting them expand their days. Part of the agreement that we have with them is that parishioners from Our Lady of Hope can volunteer during their ministry hours so if that is something you feel drawn to you should stop by and see about volunteering. It is not a ministry of the parish so you would be volunteering to help them in their ministry and would be under their direction but everything they do is consistent with the mission of our parish.
In other news we will be starting a number of construction projects soon. The chapel floor that had to be rescheduled is now set to go and the last event before construction will be Tenebrae. Starting on Holy Thursday all liturgical events will be at the main church until May 17th. In the weeks to come we will have a reprint of my earlier piece so that people can hear again what we will be doing with Adoration and other events during that time. Once that project is done, we will begin planning for the work at the church on Hoyt. Work will begin this summer and be completed before the kids come back from school. That means that for a good portion of the summer all liturgical events will be held on our Cedar Campus only. Once we have the plans set, I will provide the details, but most likely it will mirror the schedule we have while working on the chapel only now all events will be on Cedar instead of Hoyt.
Finally, in November I asked all of you to please increase your giving so that we could get another employee to help us increase our ministry presence on Cedar St and help us move into the next phase of our growth plan. Not many people have responded to this request so please do so if you have not yet. Shellie at the office can help you if you need. Just as a reminder we need $5 a week, roughly $250 a year more from each family in the parish. You will be hearing more about this from the pulpit in the weeks to come but I wanted to give all of you a reminder before you hear it again from me. This one is not really a wish but an expectation so that we can continue to do the great ministry we have started in Everett.
Prayers Always,
Fr. Joseph
You may have heard Fr. Jim's announcement at Mass last weekend, but please read his important news below. We thank him for being part of our community over the last several months and will take the opportunity to thank him on April 27th in Mattie Hall after the 10:30 am Mass.

Special Update from Fr. Jim Mylet
Eccl: 3:1There is an appointed time for everything and a time for every affair under the heavens.
I enjoyed my time with you and the openness of the community. I would like to thank you sincerely for the vitality that you have. I was just starting to get to know you when the doctor informed me that my ankle hasn't healed, and that I need an operation. I will be in a wheelchair for a while, and it will take 4-6 months to recuperate. Keep me in your prayers! Because of this, it is not possible for me to remain here. I will be leaving at the end of April. Let us pray for each other, and use the opportunities given to us by God to bring hope to the community here in Everett.
God's peace & love,
Fr. Jim
